Niek Visarius joins NecstGen as Interim CEO and Transition Manager

Leading NecstGen’s integration into LUMC while ensuring continuity across its programs and services.

Niek Visarius has joined NecstGen as Interim CEO and Transition Manager. He will guide the organisation through the next phase as NecstGen’s activities are brought together with those of Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC).

Niek brings more than 30 years of international experience in operations, manufacturing, supply chain management and business transformation. He has held senior and interim leadership roles across a range of international organisations, supporting businesses through complex periods of operational and organisational change.

Working with the leadership team and colleagues across NecstGen and LUMC, Niek will help manage the transition while maintaining focus on employees, clients, and delivery. A key priority will be ensuring that ongoing programmes and services continue effectively throughout this period.

NecstGen would also like to thank Rick Hibbert for his leadership and contribution during his time as CEO.

The bringing together of NecstGen and LUMC combines complementary expertise in Cell and Gene therapy development, manufacturing, science and clinical translation. Niek will support the development of the future NecstGen Center for Cell and Gene Therapy, building on the capabilities and relationships already established. Helping to create a sustainable foundation for the continued advancement of innovative therapies towards patients.
